VIDEO: Toilography visits Potsdam, NY

Dan from Toilography travelled to Potsdam in upstate New York to see Hank Robar’s famous Potty Gardens!

With a population of around 17,000, this quaint university town in upstate NY is also populated by hundreds of colourful loos. Check out the video to find out about the reason they’re there.

And Happy World Toilet Day! This video was released on 19th November 2018 – the annual United Nations observation that raises awareness of the global sanitation crisis. There are billions of people out there who don’t have access to sanitary facilities. My Potsdam adventure is very light-hearted but please take some time today to think about those less fortunate and donate to a worthy cause if you can.

Just look at these works of art! –

The Narrow Door Cafe in Tainan has a beautiful garden restroom with a squat toilet and urinal at the end of the path.

And in case you were wondering, yes, the laneway entrance that leads to this cafe is most definitely narrow.

Toilet gardens at the Papermoon Diner

One of the top suggestions for restrooms to visit in Baltimore was the Papermoon Diner in Remington. I really didn’t know what to expect here and was quite humoured to see such a colourful & unique building upon my approach:

Imagine my delight when I came across these numerous toilet gardens littered around the outer grounds of the diner:

Seriously, the Papermoon is one of the most interesting and unique venues I’ve eaten at across all of North America. I’m so happy it came up as a suggestion on Reddit cause I never would have known to come here otherwise.
